Maybe you think copying, pushing 1 button, then pasting is terribly inconvenient. I happen to enjoy the challenge of such an intimidating task.
>> Q made an exaggeration that did not make his message confusing,
My point wasn't that his message was confusing. My point was that I'm not constantly concerned over security. I'm not even overly concerned over security. If I was would I be posting on image boards? People complain about my supposed obsession with security far more than I actually obsess over it.
>> This is only as secure as the means you used to give your public key, making this highly pointless.
By that argument nothing is secure. Your banks, your schools, your parents, your buddies on IRC, they all depend on the idea that you can at least get your credentials to them intact. You have to start somewhere after all. But asymmetric encryption strategies like PGP, they only have that as a possible insecurity. IRC in contrast even if you successfully verify your validity in person with a notary public a priest and a judge, the next day the admins could spoof your account and sock puppet you right back into reputation hell. You can never escape the ambiguity, or the vulnerability. Not like the Rizon sysops would do that, not any more than the admins here at tgchan would copy my name and tripcode and craft this reply as if I were typing it. Nope this isn't an admin typing at all.
If the tgchan.org admins spoofed my public key, I would be able to detect that my messages were not being signed by my own key, and complain about it here. If I couldn't complain about it here, then they might as well not copy my words at all. They might as well just make up whatever they want me to say. And if they are making up all the words I say, then you're not talking to me in the first place so there's no security breach. If you trust me not to broadcast your private confession of love, it doesn't matter whether I'm an admin or not. Middle men can only replace, but not intercede between two people.
So that's what I'm saying basically. I might be an admin. I might not. But either way I'm Mneme and nobody else can sign with this key. So send me message!
