Uh oh. If you look at the picture more closely, you can see that the eaten webs have a RED TINGE. Maybe they were 'spun' by thr creature we just found, or a contaminated sister? Hopefully it doesn't mean we are compromised...

It also resembles a grub or caterpillar. Maybe if fed enough, it will cocoon itself at some point and become something beautiful (and/or murdery). Feedung it could be an experiment to try.

Possible option could be to take the creature to a sister who is an expert on foregin species, a doctor, or other 'specialist' of the sort. Said specialist might also know what the heck the red corruption is. Does the boss know where we can find such a sister?

Whatever it is, it seems to spin 'tasty' webs with bits of red in them. Which we ate. That hopefully won't cause bad things later...

Maybe its a creature akin to an aphid in ant colonies, which get 'farmed' for honeydew. Or simply a larva/child of the lady that killed you.

If we encounter another 'red-corrupted sister' or 'white and red' creature, seeing how it reacts to the white-red larva might be enlightening. Maybe it can keep the lady from murdering you outright if you wear it like a hat.

The white-red creatures seem like they're members of an entirely different colony. Maybe this colony is being attacked/invaded? Parasited, even, by the red liquid?

In any case, the larva needs a name for us to get overly attached to. One that isn't 'Emergency Ration'.

Well... how about "Grub"?
>>

I vote for naming it silky or Weber since they make silky webs.

I propose eye-pun names, like Peep/Peepers, Iris, Pupil... The big ol' eyeball on its head is distinctive.

How are the grub's different eyes (on its head and the circles on the side) reacting to motion and light, by the way? They seem to be entirely different from each other which is unusual for any creature to have.

Could also check if the thing is sentient/intelligent by asking it things and telling it to blink if it understands.

man sometimes I really wish I could read what they're saying instead of having to wait for smarter people then I to translate. Makes me feel like the 3rd wheel of a group project when you get stuck with the smart kids that just tell you to sit in the corner so you don't fuck up the project.

>>1130691
Well, ok. Hand over the baby and ask her story. How did she come here? Are there other babies missing? Did she see who took them? What has she seen in her path through the Tower?

I think we should help her find any more missing. I'm hoping none of them have been eaten... I doubly hope that the red parasite/flesh outbreak on the lower level wasn't due to them being eaten. Please don't mention that possibility out loud.
>>
No. 1130711 ID: 9f7097

Startle her? How, you were standing in plan sight like a moth staring at a lamp for a solid 10 seconds before you were jumped, how was she startled?

Also who is she and why is she here, you never seen anyone like her in the hive before?

Oh and shot in the dark but ask if she knows what is going on in your home. You just woke up getting ready to start your day only to find out some weird flesh moss is growing everywhere and your sisters are mutating into monsters. Trying hard not to freak out over that so anything she knows would be something we’d all be very grateful to learn.
>>
No. 1130731 ID: f5f115

Calmly explain that this place is your home/hive, that your sisters are violently mutating into 'red liquid forms' from an unknown source/cause, that the communication chain broke down, and that you're on general emergency duty to fix things before the tower.

Return grub, offer her ride down to meet your boss and discuss what is going on.

Accept the apology and compliment her finesse, followed by asking her role/job.
>>
No. 1130739 ID: ce15ff

Ask for her name / give your own, Casanova. And that of your hive/society/sisterhood.

Assuming it knows what Iris is / it's a baby of her kin, might be worth asking if its 'normal' for Iris to have an eyeball on its forehead. Mention the similar trait your sisters had when they mutated. Can't rule out that this weirdness is only harming your sisters.

yeah you're going to have to explain that one a bit more. As in WHY do you think you caused this and HOW did you cause this?

Also how did Iris end up here? They look like they could wonder but not from one hive to another.
>>
No. 1130769 ID: ce15ff

First off, don't panic, but also no touchy in case she is correct.

This 'red madness' could be why she attacked you (instinct taking over?), unless she was legitimately startled / assumed you would mutate on sight or such.

The fact you're talking calmly suggests lucidity/immunity or something else being a trigger/transmission for 'murder mode'. And eyeballs being a common factor.

Potential way to test could be to, uh, have her poke the... Puddle... You left behind and see if it does red stuff.

Ask her how she got here and exactly what she witnessed of the red madness - it's hasty to assume she's causing it. Is the red stuff 'normal' for her kind?

You also might be special in some way, given your freedom to traverse and seemingly no red madness symptoms (assuming there isn't an eyeball growing on your back or something).

The eyeball growth in general is odd. Can she 'see' through it? Maybe what it sees influences mutation/behavior or something, or they're somehow linked.
