each time they regenerate, their body uses up a mix of magic and bodily cells. there is a limited "pool" of magic that vex has as a caster, which can determine the amount of times they can regenerate. however, most of the limitations come from their body itself. much like how the body will use nutrients from food to convert into energy, their body will follow a similar process until nothing of excess is available, then cannibalize other already existing parts of the body to feed further regeneration. in essence, they get a bit skinnier every time they regenerate, which will translate into steady exhaustion until they rest and eat.
when vex is injured by foreign objects, their body will work to "expel" the object as it heals. no body likes bullets and all that. buuut if his body for some reason cannot expel it, it will heal around the object. this rarely happens, and if it does, vex extracts it later.
>if the speed changes based on the injury, why does it only cost -1 STAMINA per injury despite size?
the downside of vex's regeneration is that their body doesn't know how to differentiate the "hits" per say. when it is hurt, it is hurt, and their body panics. another way to say it is that their body throws a max level heal/full restoration at itself every time it is hit, no matter if it is a papercut or their entire head. the formula of what is used from their magic or their body changes based on the injury, but overall remains equivalent. bigger injuries expend more of their body, while smaller ones expend more magic.
does that sound dumb? their body doesn't think so.
>what about broken bones/dislocation?
their body will know to return to their "default" state before the injury and will shift accordingly. "injuries" that are naturally caused by the body being broken down by everyday use are exempt. there is still back pain in their future if they don't stretch.
>are there after effects?
soreness, muscle strain, ghost pain, itchiness, etc. mostly hunger. a lot of hunger.
