Interesting what they did to the Jenner, too.
Looked more like a Stalker to me, at first glance. Oh well. At least we GET a Jenner in this game. Looks like a Davion (Hero) vs Draconis Combine (Villain) game set in 3010 (3rd succession war). I hope to god that they continue the trend seen in the trailer, and make it so that only canon units show up in each army. If the Dracs don't get a fair share of Jenners, Quickdraws, Panthers, Dragons, and the like (all Kurita-centric designs) and the Davions don't get more Davion designs such as the Enforcer, Blackjack, and Dervish. Luckily, the Atlas is both a Fedsuns and Draconis design.
I think a few of the fan-favorite designs that otherwise wouldn't be seen in the area, like the Catapult or Awesome, could be inserted with a bit of "This was salvaged/purchased from..." fluff. That'd be nice. I just hope that they have a wide selection of 'mechs. From what I hear, though, they'll be making units with more personality. For example, the enemy commander's atlas might have demon horns attached, and you'll see it appear several times throughout the game.
From what I hear, though, there's some really good news in terms of how the mechs will work. Light mechs won't just be a steppingstone in power, from light->Medium->Heavy->assault, but each class will fill their own roles in the game. This is great news for me, as this means that multi-player games might not be reduced to ALL ASSAULT CLASS ALL THE TIME, as Microsoft let happen.
...If I see a single Mad Cat in the game, without some sort of expansion leading up to the Clan invasion, they're going to get some nasty letters for breaching canon so blatantly, let me tell you.
